My favorite romantic read? The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. It's melodramatic, which I usually don't like, but this one revolves around a great singer and her journey from a boring wannabe to a strong, talented woman. Mystery, horror, passion and love all swirl around like mists in this story, but I like it best because it's about ambition, especially women's ambitions, which are given too little attention in the world.
