Desk Me

I want a new desk. I need a new desk. I can't get a new desk.

Until my guy and I find our absolutely truly new home and move there, I have to use my son's (tiny) desk from his elementary school days, because I had to junk my old computer desk because it had got all messed up after years of moving... etc. etc.

My friend who helped with staging our house before we sold it said she was going to call me "the desk lady" because of all the desks I had.

There didn't seem so many to me.

One in my bedroom that doubles as a vanity because, you know.

One computer desk I had to junk.

My son's desk, that I am unhappily writing at now.

A very pretty small desk that used to belong to my sister that I've used for years, mostly to store bank stuff and old pictures.

My Walkstation which allows me to walk and write.

Okay, maybe I have a few more desks than other people. But I'm a writer. I NEED those desks.

I also sometimes write on the couch with the computer in my lap. But that's harder to do when the cat isn't sleeping and wants to be petted.

I can tell you this desk is horrible for someone with carpal tunnel, even if it's under control (mostly). I am trying to be patient about this whole moving thing, I really am. And this is not meant as a rant (well, okay, it is a rant, yes). But if you were me and desperately needed a desk that suited you, I promise you would be ranting too.

My dream desk, you asked? Okay, let's see.

It's low enough so my shoulders don't get hunched up when I'm writing and my neck doesn't get stressed (like it gets with this little kid's desk.)

It allows room for TWO computers at once without a problem. It holds a printer and plenty of storage space.

It loves me, essentially, and I love it back.

And did I say I need a better chair as well?

I didn't.

But I do.
