Instagram World

My Instagram account was created a few years' back, but only recently have I figured out what I really want to focus on. Lately, I've been looking for images you won't see every day--either macabre or religious or natural--whatever strikes me on any particular day. (Mostly posting only once a week, though, since, yes, I have other fish to fry).

Since I doubt you are following me on Instagram (at least not yet), I posted five of my favorites with explanations here. After all, it's summer, and we want to have fun, right? So... here you go.

1. I found this gentleman, called "Mr. Bones," in Macy's by a Kiehl's display. He was used to let people at Kiehls see what might be ailing them about a century ago. I'm glad he made a comeback, as it was fun to meet him at Macy's.

2. Next up is a shot of one of the restroom photos at Hell's Kitchen, a favorite haunt (pun intended) of theatrical types. If you come at it at one angle, things look pretty good. Once you start walking away, though, the little girl will show her true colors.

3. The King Kong peak at Kalalea Mountain definitely caught my attention on a 2018 trip to Kauai in the Hawaiian islands. Driving up to it, you can't help but be reminded of Kong and I love that some of the Kong movies were shot in Hawaii too. Doesn't it look like he's on his back and roaring?

4. I found this Moray eel skeleton in Monterey, CA and just had to have a photo. I've never seen one alive, so I have no idea if it's as menacing as it looks to be here.

5. This incredible statue (granite)? was found by my husband, who has a great eye for photography. We found it inside a parking lot of a Buddhist temple in Minnesota. Little offerings (including a pickle) have been placed here. I don't have ANY idea of who the statue is depicting, so if you do, please send me a note? I'd love to be able to put a name to it.

THANKS for visiting today -- and if you want to see more photos, you can find me on Instagram at authorjennazark.
